The Sony FCB Block Camera Series will soon be enlarged by two new state-of-the-art, Full High Definition (FHD) 1080/60p camera models:

the FCB-EV7520 with 30x zoom, and FCB-EV7320 with 20x zoom.

As a result of Sony’s advanced 1/2.8-type Exmor R CMOS sensor technology and dedicated image signal processor, these color cameras are extremely talented in accomplishing unparalleled low light sensitive video, producing high quality images even in the most difficult of lighting conditions. Couple this with their world-celebrated Sony VISCA command protocol, and their list of inherent Sony FCB Block Camera Series  qualities, and the result cameras have the ability to resolve challenging dilemmas in diverse and demanding applications. The sensor is equipped with Sony’s Exmor R chip technology, which incorporates a light-sensitive area that is more than double the sensitivity of standard CMOS sensors, allowing superior imaging performance with low noise. This Sony technology structure reduces damaging the sensitivity to optical angle response, and increases the amount of light entering every pixel - all because fewer obstructions (metal wiring and transistors) have been moved to the reverse of the silicon substrate. This Exmor R CMOS image sensor utilizes the very first pixel distinctively developed for back-illuminated surveillance cameras. While front illuminated cameras do not clearly address an image, the EV7520 and EV7520 cameras with their IR ability, illuminate subjects so that images are clearly visible. The IMX291 utilizes a STARVIS back-illuminated pixel technology used in CMOS image sensors specifically for surveillance camera purposes. Featuring a high sensitivity of 2000 mV, it achieves high picture quality in the visible-light and near infrared light areas. This color CMOS sensor has a diagonal of 6.46mm (type 1/2.8), a pixel size of 2.9μm square and 2.13MP effective resolution. Equipped with multiple outputs (parallel, Serial LVDS and MIPI), and multiple exposure Wide Dynamic Range, it is able to attain a maximum frame rate of 30 frames per second at full resolution, exceeding most cameras in their field. And, while these cameras produce previously unheard of levels of enhanced sensitivity, accomplished in a smaller size – and with increased zoom abilities. Add in crisp, clear Full HD imaging, their ability for fine-tuning and flexible operation, and one is introduced to the FCB-EV7520 and FCB-EV7320 cameras with uninterrupted extra impressive features. Their wide range of qualities doesn’t stop there; they are equipped with White Balance modes; Picture effects including E-Flip, Nega Art, Black & White, Mirror Image, and Color Enhancement. Equipped with motion detection and alarm, 2D and 3D noise filtering reduction with five level selections which adjust to fit the environment, and a de-fog visibility enhancer that allowing for purer viewing in fog or hazy settings. The built-in image stabilizer operation counteracts low frequency vibration which can cause distorted, shaky imagery. This is particularly valuable in outdoor surveillance and traffic observation applications, when cameras can be mounted on poles or bridges, thus subjected to wind or other involuntary vibrations. Their StableZoom™ feature merges with the optical and digital zoom characteristic, optimizing picture quality and maintaining the original horizontal view angle – the result is a guaranteed image size and diminished blurring. 24 hour camera surveillance can play havoc on picture quality due to the changing lighting conditions. With their high sensitivity mode, these cameras function perfectly in lighting levels as low as 0.35 lx (ICR on), or about as much light as a full moon provides. Because of these camera’s low light sensitivity, their Auto ICR (Auto IR-cut Filter Removal) automatically changes from day to night mode, and removes the IR-cut filter to enhance sensitivity for flawless pictures in near-darkness. Their sensitivity has been extended from the visible light range, to include the near-infrared range for night filming, vital for surveillance observation. Sony’s consistent development of new and innovative cameras once again demonstrates their leadership in the field of Full High Definition surveillance cameras. The Sony FCB Block Camera Series, always on the leading edge of the imaging industry, continues with the introduction of these two wide dynamic range surveillance cameras. Soon to be released, the FCB-EV7520 and FCB-EV7320 color block cameras will be offered through Aegis Electronic Group, Inc. when available.
