The Kowa LM5NS56 is a compact 5mm fixed focal length lens designed for 1/1.8" format sensors with 2MP resolution and 2.5µm pixel size. This S-Mount lens provides high optical performance with 200 lp/mm center and 100 lp/mm edge resolution, enabling precise image capture in embedded vision, UAV, and automotive systems. Optimized for the visible wavelength range of 400–800nm, it maintains minimal distortion at -0.51% and delivers sharp results with a wide horizontal FOV of 72.4mm and vertical FOV of 57.0mm at minimum working distance.
Built for durability in rugged or mobile environments, the LM5NS56 operates within -10°C to +50°C and includes a fixed F-stop of 5.6 with manual focus control. It has a compact design at only Ø21.5 x 29.9 mm and weighs just 12g, making it ideal for space-constrained systems. Focus range is 0.1m to infinity, and the lens supports customization including IR cut filters, glued optics for shock resistance, and full optical/mechanical redesigns by request.
