How do you take standard 1” and 2/3” lenses, and make them into rock-stars?
Kowa American Corporation has the expertise to do just that! They redesigned a typical 1” (Φ16mm) HC (Hasselblad) lens, and their standard 2/3-inch (Φ11mm) JCM lenses, and created two series of innovative, ruggedized and high-shock resistant lens series. Noticing a need for anti-shock and vibration vision system lenses, Kowa developed these lens series specifically for the increasing need from these applications. This technological advancement resulted in a new HC-V series of six high resolution 1” megapixel anti-vibration and shock lenses, and their counterpart, the 2/3” megapixel (also anti-vibration and shock resistant) six series of FA lenses. Ideal for those applications where directly or indirectly, intense vibration and shock are prevalent, these ruggedized vision system lenses lend themselves perfectly. Manufacturing, quality inspection, packaging, 3D measurement and robotics applications all require a lens that will absorb motion, and still perform flawlessly. Both the 1” HC-V and 2/3” JMC-V series of ruggedized megapixel lenses are specifically for applications requiring enhanced strength, improved durability and resilience, high megapixel resolution, low distortion, and excellent light transmission, all while maintaining optimum optical performance, in harsh environments, excelling where other lenses would ultimately fail.HC-V and JMC-V series
All lenses in both the HC-V and JMC-V series have internal glass elements securely glued in place for maximum stability. Using a two-way reversible nut, the focus adjustment ring is securely locked in position, providing extremely low distortion. By consciously restricted the number of moving parts of the lens, Kowa has eliminated unintended movement of focus and iris rings, and with it, possible repositioning from their original settings. Exchangeable iris plates (that can be glued) ranging from F1.4 to F8, are utilized to choose the F-stop. These C-mount lenses with minute distortion, and exceptional light transmission are highly acclaimed for use with smaller format size cameras. These fixed focal length 1” and 2/3” megapixel lens series allow measurements, minus pixel deviation, and maintain their stability even when in high vibration and shock environments. And, even when the lenses are tilted. All six 1” HC-V and JCM-V lens sensors are encased a metal housing, and have a metal mount.Kowa 1” HC-V Series

Kowa 1" HC-V Series of Anti-vibration and Shock lenses[/caption] The 1” HC-V series focal lengths range from the LM8HC-V with an 8mm focal length, to the LM12HC-V (12.5 focal length), the LM16HC-V, a 16mm focal length, LM25HC-V, 25mm focal length, LM35HC-V a 35mm focal length, and the LM50HC-V has a 50mm focal length. Their image sizes are all identical at 12.8×9.6 (Φ16) mm, as well as their iris range (F-stop) at F1.4/F2.8/F4/F8. All have manual iris and focus control. TV distortion values for the 1” HC-V series range from -1.2% for the LM8HC-V model, to -1.58% for the LM12HC-V, -1.0% for the LM16HC-V and LM25HC-V models, -0.5% for model LM35HC-V and 0.05% for the LM50HC-V model. Temperature ranges for all six lenses in this series is −10°C~+50°C. Range of focus (mm) for these lenses is 0.1~∞ for the LM8HC-V model, 0.3~∞ for the LM12HC-V, LM16HC-V, LM25HC-V and the LM35HC-V. Rounding out the series is the LM50HC-V with a 0.5~∞ focal range.
