Smallest and Lightest Miniature Precision LiDAR Depth Sensor

The Sony AS-DT1 LiDAR Depth Sensor employs direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) technology combined with a Single Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) sensor array to deliver high-precision 3D distance measurements. It outputs 576 ranging points per frame arranged in a 24 × 24 grid, enabling detailed depth mapping with a distance resolution of 0.98 inches. The sensor operates at up to 30 frames per second (fps) in normal mode and 15 fps at maximum range, enabling smooth, real-time depth sensing in dynamic environments. The laser emits light at a wavelength of 940 nm, ensuring accurate ranging indoors up to 40 meters (131 ft) and outdoors up to 20 meters (66 ft).

Encased in a lightweight, durable aluminum alloy housing, the AS-DT1 measures only 1.14" wide × 1.14" high × 1.22" deep and weighs a mere 1.1 ounces. It features dual USB-C ports for high-speed data and power connectivity, along with a UART interface and external trigger inputs, facilitating easy integration into drones, robotics, industrial automation, and other applications requiring compact, accurate depth sensing. With a horizontal field of view (HFoV) of 30° or more and a measurement accuracy of ±0.2 inches at 10 meters, the ASDT1 combines precision, speed, and miniaturization for advanced 3D sensing needs.
