With the introduction of High Definition Technology into compact box type cameras, the requirements for the television broadcast and surveillance markets for high performance remote control lenses has dramatically increased. In response, Canon proudly offers 8 remote control lenses that set new standards for quality including the new Super Telephoto HJ18ex28B ITS-RE/ME.

The new compact Super Telephoto HJ18ex28B ITS-RE/ME lens weighs only 5.7 lbs and features Canon’s HDTV advanced technology developed over our long history producing the world’s best high definition lenses. This incredible lens offers exceptional optical performance and a 28 – 500mm focal length range (56 – 1000mm with the 2X extender), while providing the same control interface used by our existing remote control lenses. This will enable the lens to be perfectly compatible with existing pro-video and broadcast pan-tilt systems.

All eight of Canon’s HDTV and SDTV broadcast grade remote control lenses are offered in two versions known as “RE” and “ME”. The ME version lenses feature a manually operated built-in 2X extender while the RE version offers a motorized built-in 2X extender.
